WHY?

The Hinterland Session is a unique running and mindfulness retreat experience in the rugged and beautiful mountain ranges of Northern New South Wales. The Hinterland Session has taken the best parts from the previous sessions (The Siargao Session & The K.I Session) and combined them with a stunning new location. Just quietly, we think this is the best one yet. The Sessions have been transformational and life-changing events for those who have attended and The Hinterland Session is set to be no different. We will be staying in the stunning Altitude 261 which is surrounded by national parkland, escarpment and rainforest. Nestled into the mountains of NSW, Altitude 261 is the perfect place to disconnect from the outside world as you immerse yourself into The Hinterland Session itinerary. If you're running is your only outlet and you're struggling to slow down, finding it difficult to prioritise what's important, or searching to find clarity in direction The Sessions will provide a space to bring light on what's most important. It's time to give yourself an opportunity to look within, connect with new people, run somewhere you haven't before and take your life to the next level.

The Hinterland Session is a five-night experience for 11 people who are motivated by curiosity, self-optimisation, and personal development. You will be pushing yourself physically and mentally throughout the week as you delve into Josh Lynott's six workshops and set out on various runs selected for the Hinterland Session. Think trail runs, long runs, easy runs, and a touch of speed work - your legs will get a taste of everything.

To keep our minds and bodies fuelled, there will be a continental style breakfast served each morning with a delicious variety of fresh fruits, cereals, kinds of milk, juices, loaves of bread and more. Our team chef will be catering for both lunch and dinner, serving up high-quality healthy meals each day. Our chef will be able to cater to any personal requirements regarding nutrition, allergies or preferences.

Each day, Josh Lynott will lead you through a workshop to motivate your own personal development and to inspire positive changes in your mindset. Together, we will explore the workshop themes of consistency, accountability, prioritisation, developing positive habits, goal-setting/manifestation, and other relevant and meaningful topics to transform the way you approach each day.

Alongside the workshops, Josh Lynott be leading an open forum running Q&A. This is your chance to discuss all things running from training, nutrition, mindset, shoes, destination events and more.

At night, you can expect to indulge in a healthy dinner after a testing day of physical training and mentally stimulating workshops. You can be assured that we will be making time to watch every sunset, bask in the golden end-of-day light and enjoy the nature which surrounds Altitude 261. The rest at the end of each day is necessary as we give our mind and body a chance to unwind.

Closing each day, we will move through our evening routines both as a group and individually. The day will end by working through meditations, journalling and looking over the best things that happened each day. Dinner each night will be around the ‘family table’, the place where some of our favourite stories have been told and shared.

HOW WILL THE HINTERLAND SESSION IMPACT YOU?

The Hinterland session will push you both physically and mentally through a series of individual and team challenges. You will finish the six days with a heightened awareness of your goals, an improved mindset, and confidence in your ability to push yourself to take on new challenges. Parts of the week will ask for vulnerability on your behalf, it is entirely up to you how much you are willing to share. As seen from the Siargao Sessions and most recent K.I Session, the people you spend the week with will leave an impact on you in ways you could never have imagined.

WORKSHOPS

Support Workshop:
The Sessions 'Support' Workshop is an immersive and thought-provoking workshop led by Josh Lynott for those looking to shape, nurture, or redesign their current support network. Josh will coach you through a review of your environment before helping you shape your future support landscape. Get ready to evolve and grow - this workshop will help you identify who you want to surround yourself with, how you like to be supported and how you show up to support those around you. We are all products of our environment - knowing how to navigate the landscape of people you surround yourself with is one of the most important awareness skills you can have.

Go Slow Workshop:
During the "Go Slow" Workshop you will be working with Josh Lynott in an intimate group environment to explore the cost of 'being busy' and identify the key areas of your life which you will gradually develop and progress over the course of the next year. Josh will help you incorporate new philosophies into your day to day and week to week schedule to help you build momentum, reduce stress, and increase gratitude. In a world that doesn't stop, the Go Slow workshop brings you back to the fundamentals and gives you actionable takeaways to bring direction and calm into your life.

Decision-Making Workshop:
The "Decision Making" Workshop will help you strengthen the processes which you employ when making decisions. Engage in rapid-fire decision-making activities before diving into the frameworks from which we make decisions. Learn to understand your biases and how you can explore new options in previous 'binary' situations. Josh Lynott will take you through the workshop and help you review your current daily routines and habits to make space for optimised and improved practices. Decision making is like a muscle, this workshop will help you strengthen and use it effectively. If you find decision making hard or suffer from decision fatigue, this one is for you.

Risk-Taking Workshop:
If you're ready to take your life to the next level, it's time to drop into The Sessions Risk-Taking workshop. Josh Lynott will help you clearly define what risk means to you and allow you to understand where it is currently positioned in your life. Distinguish what key differences between positive and negative risks and discover how implementing calculated risk into your life will help you create a culture for excellence. Change is the only constant in life; if utilised correctly, risk-taking is the catalyst that will take you places you couldn't imagine. Whether you are risk-averse or a Redbull cliff-diver, Josh will help you find improvements to maximise your risk-taking potential.

Smash Negativity:
The Smash Negativity workshop is facilitated by Josh Lynott in a calming group coaching environment. Before splitting up the group into small sub-groups, Josh will prompt you to consider where your current blocks and hurdles are. You will immerse yourself in character-shaping activities and engage in group discussion to work through your current limiting beliefs. Unpacking these limiting beliefs is one of the keys to bullet-proofing your mindset and outlook on life. Josh will also provide language and action cues that you can take away to implement immediately after The Smash Negativity Session has finished. Small changes from this workshop compounded over time yield big results.
