2022 FLOOD DISASTER RELIEF APPEAL

This year Sportitude is proudly partnering with Shoe Boxes Of Love, a disaster relief charity helping Australian communities affected by natural disasters to get back on their feet.

Providing hope, support and compassion even in a small way can have a huge benefit to the lives of disaster affected communities.

With the recent flood emergency devastating regional areas of QLD and NSW in 2022, many families have been left without liveable homes and even without everyday basics that most of us take for granted.

Even in difficult times, we can grow positivity. Shoe Boxes Of Love is building a bridge of hope between the wider Australian community and disaster affected regions – giving you a practical and compassionate way to lend a helping hand.

How Can I Help?

As a volunteer run organisation, Shoe Boxes Of Love relies on the kindness and generosity of the wider Australian community.

We encourage you to put together a Shoe Box of Love. A Shoe Box of Love is any box that you firstly fill with essentials, then luxury care items as an optional extra.

This donation can make a world of difference in the healing and recovery process – providing a means of self-care and a sense of normality to hold onto in times of crisis.

Creating a Shoe Box of Love is fun, easy and affordable - simply think about essential items you use every day. It’s best if you target your Shoe Box of Love to a recipient of a particular age and gender and include the suggested essential items as per below.

• Firstly fill with essentials, then luxury care items as an optional extra.
• Please DON’T include any second-hand items. All items must be new in original packaging.
• Please DON’T include small, hotel or travel sized toiletries. All toiletries must be in their original packaging.
• Please DO clearly label the box with the age and gender of the intended recipient (e.g. Girl 3-5 years).
• The recipients love hearing from you – please personalise your Shoe Box of Love by including a thoughtful and supportive message (optional)

If you don't live in South Australia and want to help, you can still have a significant impact by making a donation. Donating funds allows the team at Shoe Boxes Of Love to purchase much needed items during an appeal.

• $5 provides an individual Emergency Relief Pack
• $15 provides clean teeth (toothbrushes and toothpaste) for 50 people
• $25 provides a shoe box of love of essentials
• $50 provides a deluxe shoe box of love of essential and luxury items
