When it comes to the kitchen, eggs have become a staple. Find any recipe that includes the word bake in it and you are likely to find the protein-rich staple in your ingredient list. However, may it be for dietary or ethical reasons, or the fact that you simply forgot to top up on those fridge essentials; an egg is not always a viable option. No need to panic, chia eggs are here to save the day (or will be in all but 15 minutes it will take you to prepare them). No, you definitely read that correctly - Chia eggs. 

Containing more fiber, protein, calcium and twice the amount of OMEGA-3, chia eggs are set to become your new kitchen staple. While the concept may sound scary or foreign, the recipe is anything but.  

Measure one tablespoon of chia seeds and grind them in your food processor. Place your mixture in a bowl and add three tablespoons of water to the mix. Let the mixture set for ten minutes and once it has taken on a gelatinous consistency, it is ready to be used in your favourite muffin and other baking recipes.
