Product Focus: New Balance Fresh Foam Zante V2

by Sportitude

When it comes to running, the right shoe is not a choice but a necessity. More than a bragging right and a sign of your commitment, the right shoe will aid in performance and help prevent injury.

For both the competitive athlete and the recreational runner, the New Balance Fresh Foam Zante V2 excels in all areas from tempo runs and daily training to long distance running.

It won the Best Buy award in the Runner's World March 2016 issue.

What makes the Zante a versatile choice is the Fresh Foam midsole, which offers bouncy cushioning for those high impact activities such as sprint running. The standout feature, a 6mm heel-toe offset and smooth heel to toe transition. Finished with a lightweight upper mesh design to provide a snug, ‘sock-like’ feel - the Fresh Foam Zante is the perfect shoe when you are faced with that uphill battle.

What does this mean for the beginner? An investment into a pair of runners that will offer that extra helping hand during those high impact drill sessions but will also simultaneously serve as an all-rounder shoe for those longer more leisurely runs or gym sessions.

So what is in the V2?

A new upper design means you are guaranteed a more spacious fit, catering to a broader foot. A better engineered upper mesh also means less overlays and tight wrapping across the arch of the foot.

Focusing on its central feature, the Fresh Foam for the midsole, the V2 version uses a more horizontally elongated hexagon pattern compared to the more regular hexagon pattern of the original. The end result? A shoe that doesn’t feel like it needs to be broken into. Because let's face it - you don't really have time for that.
