On the contrary, when combined with a healthy diet, coconut can help boost metabolism and aid in weight loss.  A study conducted by the Journal of Nutrition found that participants who consumed 1-2 teaspoons of coconut oil per day burned more calories than those who didn’t. Furthermore, researchers have found that that coconut oil is not only easy to digest but it also lowers abdominal obesity and protects the body from insulin resistance.   

If that is not enough to convince you, this oil miracle worker also helps relieve common stomach concerns such as irritable bowel syndrome and common bugs that cause bloating. The fatty acids found in coconut oil contain anti microbial properties, which have a calming effect on bacteria, candida, or parasites that cause poor digestion.
