Box Your Way To Gigi's Body

by Sportitude

For a long time boxing remained on the periphery of fitness trends. That was until the world’s top supermodels brought it out of the shadows and to the forefront of all our Instagram feeds. It’s hard to pick up the phone, log into a trending fashion and fitness website or to pick up a sports magazine without noticing the latest fitness craze. If Gigi’s abs aren’t enough to convince you to join your local class, these 5 reasons may do the trick.

1. Heart Health: We all know that the secret to burning those calories and promoting heart health means cardio, but if we’re really being honest, running on the treadmill and doing a cycle class can become monotonous. Boxing presents a welcome fun and challenging alterative.

2. Hand-eye coordination: While hand-eye coordination may sound like a given as we age our coordination declines. Boxing will not only promote but improve your hand-eye coordination leading to improved motor skills. What does this mean for your overall health? Faster reflexes and overall physical coordination.

3. Total Body strength: Boxing provides a cardio workout, which tones the entire body without needed added bells and whistles. Kick, punch and jump your way to Gigi Hadid’s body without having to target specific areas or using a wide-range of machines at the gym. Punching and kicking a bag requires you to use your upper, lower and core.

4.Body composition: Nothing will improve your body composition like a good kick boxing class. Why? Because it combines muscle-building strength training moves with calorie burning bouts of cardio.

 5.     Decrease stress: Let’s be honest, who hasn’t imagined punching a bag or ten during those stressful work hours. Producing a workout with high intensity bouts of all out punching power requires focus, which will leave little room for you to stress about that deadline.
