5 Simple Ways To Minimise Stress - (The Real Housewives Are Out)

With stress-related health issues at an all-time high, it's time to make changes that don't require too much planning or added work. While meditation, yoga and a small get away are ideal, sometimes we just need a quick fix that won't throw off our routine. 

1. Learn the power of saying no. While doing favors for work colleagues, friends and family is part of forming healthy relationships, learn to value your time and not to overcommit out of obligation. It is ok to say no. 

2. Make lists before you go to bed. Part of the reason many of us have restless nights is due to worrying about the day that has passed and what needs to be done throughout the week. Put your thoughts to paper and enjoy some extra uninterrupted sleep. 

3. Go media free: If you are overworked, overloaded with information, behind a computer screen all day long – quit media for a week. Ditch the television, reality shows and DVD player and go for a walk instead. 

4. Shorten your emails: If your job involves endless emails, learn to limit your emails to 5 sentences. Not only will you cut your workload down, you will also learn to summarize and lessen your recipient’s workload also.

5. Background Music: Play soothing background music at the office and at home to help relieve stress. Music has the ability to quickly shift our moods so next time you are stuck in a traffic jam or have had a stressful meeting, turn up your favourite tune.
