Heroes often walk amongst men unrecognized, and when it comes to fat burning super foods, there are a few hidden supermen and women that will not only add delicious additions to your next lunch but will help blast those stubborn calories. 

1. Coconut oil. Don’t let the oil title fool you. Rich in medium-chained-triglycerides (MCT’s) means your body will be more likely to process coconut oil as energy rather than store it as fat. Inject some into your yoghurts, fry up some eggs using the wonder oil or simply have 1-2 teaspoons a day and watch the waistline shrink. 

2. Kale: The king of all kings when it comes to vegetables, this super food will not only deliver a potent dose of nutrients to your body, it also works to clear out toxins and to suppress appetite. Four cups of kale hold enough nutrients to supercharge your livers detoxifying process for 48 hours.  

3. Broccoli Rabe: If Broccoli Rabe were a fat fighting superhero, it would have to have superman status. This appealing and equally delicious vegetable contain's phytonutrient sulforaphane, which stimulates an enzyme, which tells your fat cells to burn more fat. Yes, these types of foods actually exist.  

4. Brazil Nuts. Whoever told you to hold off from this delicious snacks is has mistaken their wickedly delicious fatty content as the villain. Brazilian nuts help boost the metabolism by converting the thyroid hormone to its active form. They also help bind toxins that would otherwise turn themselves into fat in the body.   

5 Chia Seeds: We knew Chia seeds were good for us, but what is far less commonly known is that chia seeds also help blast unwanted fat. These protein rich seeds not only help suppress the appetite but they also speed up the metabolism and turn on one of the body’s fat burning hormones- glucagon.
