How To Gain Zac Efron's Abs From Celebrity Personal Trainer Dan Chapman

I'm going to shed some light on how you can go from just having a flat pack to a super hero 3D popping 6 pack just like Actor Zac Efron.

I think we were all pretty impressed at how Mr Efron transformed from a typical average slim build  into his now ripped solid gladiator like physique which wouldn’t be out of place on the cover of men's fitness or any other fitness publication. 

In order to transform your body in this way there are a few key important things you need in place So lets strip this down to the bare essentials and give you the low down on how you can go about achieving a 6 pack like Zac Efron. 

I'm going to jump straight into the raw essence of what is needed to create that solid carved look and its not hundreds of crunches every day .  

THE KEY IS RESISTANCE

That’s right ,loading up that mid-section with resistance just like you would any other muscle group is the best way to build a solid 6 pack like Zac. A Zac pac! 

When it comes to abs training for that much wanted cover model six pack look there is a lot more to it than the old 'Abs start in the kitchen' saying, and believing that it's mainly 'diet' that will give you a six pack . Well Yes of course what you eat is crucial and contributes enormously in fat loss and diminishing the fat BUT in my 30 plus years of gym training experience both positive and negative I have come to believe that training Abs like any other muscle group is the way to achieve a Rock solid mid-section as is also the intensity in which you train. 

What I mean by this is using resistance in your abdominal training like you would for say chest or biceps . With the same explosive exertion and intensity.  Let's face it , if you want to develop your biceps you’re going to need to load that bar or increase those Dumbbells to create hypertrophy (muscle growth) and if your wanting to build a thicker chest you won't build it from just push ups. 

BURN MORE FAT

There's also a double whammy effect here too because not only are you strengthening and carving the abdominal area by using weights which will create shape and depth , you are also increasing your lean muscle tissue which in turn helps burn more fat overall and helps increase your metabolism meaning your abs will show through quicker from the combination of the fat loss and muscle development caused by training in this way. Remember that muscle equals fat loss and to build muscle you must lift weights. 

WHAT ABOUT DIET

I have a great saying re diets and that is – Don’t start something that has an end. Diets have an end and therefore they are non-sustainable and are only ok for the short term. A balanced healthy eating pattern is what will get and keep you in shape 365 days a year and would be something that Zac Efron and other actors alike would follow as a daily rule. Make sure to eliminate sugar, fizzy drinks, Alcohol and fried foods and  I suggest sticking to things that swim and fly and never omit a food group completely from your diet as you want to keep your brain alert as well as your energy levels. Think protein, vegies (keep it colourful) and good carbs, yes carbs are not the devil and will also help you build the muscle you need to burn fat. If you do a little internet research on carb cycling which is what I preach daily to my clients then you will quickly learn that this is a great way to achieve a healthy lean body. When carbs are cut completely from someone’s diet the body will try to cling to them and store them as fat the moment they’re reintroduced.
