No Money Or Space For A Home Gym?...No Excuse

by Sportitude

When it comes to excuses we have heard them all. One of the most used and abused is the fact that you don't have time to exercise to which we say "exercise at home". This is when phase two of the excuses kicks in. This phase varies between not having the money to build a gym at home, to not having space and sometimes both. Luckily we just love busting those little excuses to have you exercising and feeling your fittest and healthiest self.

5 must have pieces of exercise equipment for home workouts...

Yoga Matt

Let’s begin with the non-negotiable piece of equipment that will stop you from gaining carpet burns, slipping on tiles and generally leaving all sorts of sweat marks on your carpet. I think we all know where this is heading – a yoga mat. Exercise with confidence on any surface without falling or causing injury and add extra cushion to those lower exercises such as planks and stretches. Come the weekend, take it to your YOGA and Pilates class- win, win.

Adjustable Dumbbells

If space is tight the last thing you need in your living room is rows and rows of dumbbells. For the beginner, adjustable dumbbells provide all the equipment you need. Tone your entire body and add resistance to your favourite workouts like squats, lunges and everything in between with durable and versatile dumbbells made by Randy & Travis Machinery, Australia’s leaders in quality sports equipment.

Resistance Bands

When it comes to versatile, space saving and cost effective gym equipment at home, it doesn’t come much better than resistance bands. Tone your arms with resistance training that you can do while sitting on the couch and watching your favourite TV shows. Heck, even add them to your handbag and inject some exercise at work during your next break.

Adjustable Kettlebells

Kettlebells are an effective way to workout your entire body. Mixing kettlebells with your favourite exercises such as squatting and lunging will not only add resistance helping you tone faster but it will also get the heart racing, ensuring you burn more calories quick fast! The featured SPORTITUDE kettlebells easily transform from 7g to 32kg with ease, meaning it will save you space, money and will grow with you as your strength increases.

Foam Roller

We all know that stretching and post workout recovery tends to fall to the wayside. Ensure you recover properly and spend adequate time stretching by introducing a foam roller into your routine. Start from your calves and work your way up the body relieving pressure in your calves, hamstrings, glutes and quads.
