6 Steps To Rekindle Your Love Affair With Exercising

by Sportitude

So you let your fitness routine slip a little during the cooler months? That’s ok, who are we to judge. Heck, we have done the same. A snooze button here and a sleep in there, and before you knew it hitting the gym at 6am was the last thing on our mind. But as the story always goes, summer is fast approaching and you are starting to feel the effects of those winter mornings spent in bed. The jeans are a little tighter and your energy levels are low.

The good news is that switching back to a committed routine can be easy as one, two… well... six actually. Implement these six steps to revamp your commitment to the bikini body cause.

Make it cost

With countless gym membership and class options on the market, signing up for a monthly or short-term program has never been easier. Whatever your choice of activity may be, from Pilates to boxing and beyond, by pre-purchasing classes you are far less likely to bail. Heck, who wants to throw money down the drain!

Map it out

Make a weekly schedule for your fitness routine and work around it. If a Sunday coffee date is on the agenda, plan to walk to and from your date, or even better, during your date too. Takeaway cups were invented for a reason. Plan your classes around your work schedule. You are far less likely to bail on a class if it is on your way to or from work.

Prepare

Make sure you pack your gym bag the night before. If you really want to go the distance, leave an emergency bag in the car. Because we all know that a forgotten towel and drink bottle is what all our gym excuses are made of.

Quit the snooze button.

Now when we say quit, we don’t mean hit it twice then roll out of bed landing on your left leg. Make it a challenge to rise to the occasion immediately. Don’t roll around in bed contemplating the 101 reasons and ways you can bail on your gym class, just get up and do it.

Make yourself accountable

Share your newfound exercising commitment with a friend. Voice it out loud so that someone will question how you are tracking. Even better, tell the fittest friend you know. Because we all know that one person who never lets winter sideline their fitness routine and we want to prove them wrong.

Dress the part

Nothing will motivate like some fresh threads and kicks. We all know that when you dress the part you feel the part so invest in some sports apparel that is bound to put a bounce in your step.
